Consistent Characters Across Scenes
Gen-4 allows users to lock a character’s appearance and generate that character across different angles, lighting conditions, and environments. The feature is a major leap for narrative storytelling, where continuity errors have long been a weakness of AI-generated video. Runway demonstrates the capability with short films showing the same actor in multiple scenes.
The character-lock system works with both real photographs and illustrated concepts. Directors can maintain costume details, hairstyles, and facial features across an entire sequence, dramatically reducing post-production cleanup.
