What we counted
This study uses the pricing model recorded in each of the 934 hands-on reviews published on World of AI Hub as of 4 September 2026. Each tool is classified as Free (no paid plan required for the core feature), Freemium (a usable free tier plus paid plans), Free Trial (free for a limited time, then paid), Paid (no free access) or Enterprise (custom pricing only). Category counts use the same catalogue, so a tool that belongs to two categories is counted in both.
These figures describe our reviewed catalogue, not the whole market. We review tools our readers ask about and tools we use ourselves, which skews the sample towards established products.

If you need an image generator, a design tool or a research assistant, expect to find a genuinely usable free option; in those categories the majority of tools we reviewed have one. If you are buying for marketing, finance or email, budget for a subscription from day one: most tools there gate the core feature behind a paid plan, and the free trials we saw ran for 7 to 14 days.
Freemium limits vary widely. In our reviews the most common caps on free tiers are monthly credits (image and video generators), a watermark on exports (video and design tools), a document or word limit (writing tools) and a single-user restriction (meeting and sales tools).
